Air pollution in the areas around Suvarnabhumi Airport cleared up on Tuesday (January 14) with the level of PM2.5 dust particles in the air sharply lower, but the situation in Bangkok and its suburbs remains a cause for concern.

The Pollution Control Department (PCD) reported that the overall PM2.5 levels in Bangkok and nearby areas were in a range of safe to unhealthy.

The dust particles have been a problem since last week, after they reached unsafe levels in numerous areas of Bangkok and nearby provinces.

"   overall PM2.5 levels in Bangkok and nearby areas were in a range of safe to unhealthy."

Where are the safe places? Maybe gov should trumpet that "fact"?

"There are safe places to breathe near Bangkok! C'mon tourists! Thailand will take your breath away."

Ah, so I see that it is important to be concerned about Bangkok and environs. Very good!

So I need not worry that the pm 2,5 level of 177,8 in my Chiang Mai location is so high because as I am not in Bangkok it is not a problem. So I can breathe a sigh of relief and stop wearing a mask.

Like it or not, Bangkok is the by far biggest city in Thailand and the center of Thai business and government.

And nobody will hinder the people from Chiang Mai to work on a better air quality in their city.
