BANGKOK (NNT) - Prime Minister/Defense Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha is to chair 2020’s first roving cabinet meeting in Narathiwat province to boost confidence in the local economy, trade and investment. The venue is located in Chalerem Phra Kiat Building in the premises of the Narathiwat Rajanagarindra University. The roving cabinet meeting is considered 80% prepared as of Sunday.

Narathiwat Provincial Governor, Ekkarat Leesen has inspected the university’s Chalerm Phra Kiat Building as the venue chosen for the first roving cabinet meeting of 2020, with the meeting scheduled for January 20 and January 21. Provincial officials and university students have made preparations both inside and outside the building. The university has confirmed preparations have progressed well in all respects, including the suitability of the venue, appointment of personnel and infrastructural systems.

Meanwhile, officials have cleaned Chao Mae Toh Moh shrine in downtown Su-ngai Kolok district and removed tents to open up the space in preparation for a visit by the prime minister who will pay homage to the shrine and meet with representatives of four Chinese-Thai associations.

The prime minister will also meet local villagers and view an exhibition on healthcare activity, with OTOP items including those for sale online, at Ruen Arun Building in Su-ngai Kolok district. Chairs have been installed for over 3,000 villagers, representatives of associations, resident housewives and officials who will welcome the prime minister. On a stage decked with distinctive batik cloth, a sign reads ’’Narathiwat people welcome Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha and his entourage.’’

Villagers of Su-ngai Kolok district will be glad to see the visiting head of government who will follow up on the implementation of various projects and listen to their problems. His visit will build confidence in the steering of government policies, stimulate the local economy and upgrade the southern border villagers’ quality of life.

'Roving'?

I would have thought given who is chairing the meeting, it would be better to describe it as a 'rambling cabinet meeting'

Is it called a "roving" cabinet so as to provide a moving target?
