I have a couple questions please. I have a one year visa extension based on marriage, I am leaving the country (Thailand) twice in the next two months one time in march and one time in april. 1st question is how early can I go to my local immigration office to fill out a tm 8 form for a re entry stamp in my passport before I travel? 2nd question is there a limit on how many re entry stamps I can get in a one year period? I only plan on leaving the country (Thailand) two times this year being 2020. Thank you

You can apply for a re-entry permit at any time as long as you do it before you leave the country.

You can apply for as many single re-entry permits as you want to but you cannot have more than one valid re-entry in your passport.

You can also get a multiple re-entry permit for a fee of 3800 baht. A single is 1000 baht.

OP, you can obtain reentry permit at airport if that suits you. IMO better option than imm.

You have 2 trips planned. If your current permission of stay has several months to go, you could consider a multi reentry.

1000 vs 3800 as ubon pointed out.

Best to write at some airports. Not all of them has a re-entry permit desk.

Both airports in Bangkok will do them 24 hours a day.

Do you know if there's a re-entry desk at Chiang Mai?

There is

Guessing the reason you and Joe might recommend doing it at the airport might be shorter lines... ? Or ... ?

There are no international flights out of Chiang Mai at this time.  Last  I heard was 6 more months minimum so cant do it at Chiang Mai Airport now.

Wow! I was checking prices online a few days ago to the US and they showed flights - a few went to Bangkok, but some seemed normal.

I need to do my first 90 day renewal on the 1 year non O this week - can I do both at the same time/same window    or do I need to get in line twice?

Haven't decided exactly on the travel dates but I guess that doesn't matter - as I understand it I have to fill in the dates on the form but they're not printed on the permit.

OK, I mean non-stop flights that take off from CNX and land in another country. Such as old KE-668 that operated almost daily during high season  CNX to ICN. The international terminal looks closed. That is location of  the re-entry permit desk. After outbound passengers clear security. Last time I did a re-entry permit at Chiang Mai Immigration Office it took quite a long time.

I assume you mean doing a report of staying longer than 90 consecutive days in the country that does no renew anything.

You could do both of them in one trip to immigration. Whether it could be done at the desk or window would depend upon the office you go to.

Your date of departure from or entry to the country does not matter when applying for re-entry permit. You can put any date you want to on the form or leave them blank at some offices.

I just checked flights again and everything out of CM was at least 10 hours longer than usual - out of BKK was normal.

Any clues why Imm at CM was slow? Was that a pre-Covid thing with what used to be a 'normal' number of people there? I've been there a couple times since December and it's been pretty quick, not a lot of farangs.

My 1 year non-O started Dec 7,  need to do the first 90 day report by Mar 1, thought I'd do it this week.

Do I need to take proof of residence or anything else again? Nothing's changed.

I was pre-covid in low season 2019 . Sometimes maybe best to not get there first thing.

None of that is needed at most immigration offices other than your passport and a completed TM47 form.

Great, thank you sir!

There's a good copy shop right around the corner, 1 baht per, so I'll probably do it anyway - be my luck the guy would ask for it.
