I've about had it with my UPS. It came with a two-year guarantee. I've sent it back to the shop at least 5 times. Each time I get it back it works for maybe a month and then breaks down again. I don't know if I can legally mention the brand name on this forum so I won't for the time being.

Here are my questions:

1. Can anyone out there recommend a (locally available) UPS which is a RELIABLE piece of equipment?

2. Can anyone recommend a reliable, stand alone, line surge protector (i.e., not part of a UPS)?

Thanks in advance for your input!

IMHO You can't go far wrong with anything from APC (American Power Conversions), they are THE name in UPS's. Not the cheapest by a long chalk but by far the best.

Fully agree with Crossy on APC. All I get for our laboratory and we have dozens of them with no problems.
