  • Don't agree at all. Not a threat to society is not the point at all. What it costs to keep him in prison is also not the point, not at all.   He's in jail as punishment for the enormous dama

Well then hurry up and die. You will get no sympathy from those whose lives you destroyed.

I think that there is a point when many people because of age and medical conditions are no longer a threat to society.   It's probably better to move them out of costly prison care and into less restrictive settings.   If they are no longer a danger to society, there is little need for prison-care.

I think probation type restrictions should still be in place restricting movement and activities.

It's called punishment for what you did. Not for what you can't do in the future.

Madoff is asking for "compassionate release", while he never really showed compassion towards others. He was abusing the little guys for his own benefit and hunger for money and power.

Madoff should stay in the prison, as an example, what happens to ones rest of life, if you abuse other people the way he did.

While showing leniency towards other prisoners, who made stupid mistakes during distress is perfectly ok, showing leniency towards abusers of other people send a message 'it's ok to rip off common people.

So I vote that his last memories and moments of life should be inside prison.
