There are travel agents. I use one myself sometimes. But I also use the airline's reservation departments, or online booking via their websites..

Only last week, I phoned EVA Air's reservation department in Bangkok to book a return flight BKK-LHR.

I book with my regular agent in Bangkok. No need to go in person. She then makes the booking and sends me a copy.

Easy.

Just yesterday quoted me 28.300 baht return with BA in March

or 25,700 with BA in May vs 24,100 with EVA

That is if I book pretty soon. The longer I leave it the prices may go up a bit.

Sorry, but I don't know any travel agents in Kanchanaburi.

I always use EVA Air to fly to UK because they fly direct, non-stop. https://www.evaair.com  You can book online via the website.

If you prefer to book over the phone, their reservation number in BKK is:

  • Reservation/Ticketing Hotline +66-2-3027288

  •

Emirates fly from Bangkok, but require a stop in Dubai I believe. https://www.emirates.com/th/english/

There are of course many other airlines that fly BKK to UK.

I just checked momondo.com for flights, BKK / LHR, depart 6 May return 20 May and there's loads of options:

Finair 498 Pounds

KLM 493

Emirates 502

Air France 530

Etihad 524

etc etc

Cheaper still if you go to Gatwick.

Or they may go down as people around the world stop flying because of the coronavirus. I loved it after 9/11 and during SARS. Selfish perhaps, but it's nice to have three seats to lay out on in Peasant Class.

It is. Both BA and EVA are non stop. The BA flight arrives around 6.30 pm and the EVA around 7.30 pm. Tried both. BA seats more comfortable and better legroom but <deleted> in flight entertainment.

I will fly from Samui to London Heathrow via BKK. I always buy as a single through ticket so that my baggage goes straight through. No taking off the carousel in BKK and checking in again.

This works out a bit more expensive. THB 65,000 return for Premier Deluxe. This is a class of seats between economy and business class. Slightly bigger seats, and a bit more leg room. But that price inclusdes the flight from Samui.

Bangkok Airways and EVA Air have a code share agreement, so baggage straight through is possible.

Just check on Skyscanner. Will give you ticket prices for numerous airlines single or return. I usually fly Emirates to Manchester and pay around £650 return. A single would be roughly half of that.

Best price is usually around a month before your flight.

For the NW UK I now use Emirates to Manchester and book thru the airline web page.

I did book thru cheaptickets.co.th.

Many years ago I used  a travel agents in Soi 4 Nana, AP Travel. I do believe they still may be there. There was a Thai girl who spoke excellent French and English, she would do all the ground work and you would just hand over the Baht.

I was planning a visit back to home country this year but with all this sanmiguel virus around, myself and a few others I know are just keeping away from airports and large populated places etc.
