February 12, 20206 yr I've been diligently collecting my electronic waste over the past few years, with the intention of recycling the stuff into an E-waste system, and I think I've finally reached the point where I need to get rid of it. A quick Google search of "E-waste disposal Pattaya" didn't produce anything useful. I've read that some of the phone company shops in Bangkok will accept recycled phones (but only phones), but I have a variety of other stuff (electric shaver, lead-acid batteries) as well. Does anyone know if there is an e-waste disposal location in the Pattaya area?
February 12, 20206 yr just throw it in the trash and some else will make use of it further down the eco line
February 13, 20206 yr I have a scavenger with a hand-cart who comes round once every 3-4 days who gets the cans and bottles I collect, and a guy in a truck (with a disturbing loudspeaker) comes around once every month collecting stuff you describe, he even offers a bit of cash for it. Like the old 'rag and bone' man! Edited February 13, 20206 yr by jacko45k

Like the old 'rag and bone' man! Thanks for the feedback. The guy in the truck you describe above, is he specifically interested in this sort of electronic waste? If yes, I suppose that means there's a market for the stuff somewhere. Also, I'm wondering what area you happen to live in?

I live out of town around Nong Pla Lai area. He isn't offering much money but better than dumping it in the cassava fields like locals do.

Anything of any value at all ( glass, metal, plastic, electronics ,fridges etc) left in or by a rubbish bin will be taken by the army of scavengers in no time at all, the bins around my area ( Jomtien) are sorted through many times per day. And there seems not to be any government run rubbish tip/recycling centre in the Pattaya area ( if there is its secret) hence the building rubble old toilets, sofas strewn all over many vacant land plots.
February 20, 20206 yr I have some old UPS batteries that I need to dispose of- I can't think of any use the rubbish man would have for unchargeable 12v batteries. In California we get a fine for throwing e-waste into the normal trash bins. I'm feeling a little guilty about dumping these into the trash, bumping the thread to see if anyone knows of a proper e-waste recycling location.

That looks like exactly what we need here. Just out of curiosity, where was that picture taken?

Anything put in those bins is collected by the same army of scavengers that sort through the regular bins..most people don't even bother to use them and just use the nearest regular bin, there is no specialist contractor collection of anything put in those bins.. Someone must have a key to the caged-in hazardous waste bins.
