I have some shorts that developed a hole in the pocket.   Where can I get a repair in south Pattaya  ?

I want somebody skilled as it probably needs the entire pocket lining replaced to be durable.

 

The tailors around Tuk Com are not interested in repair jobs.

 

The reason why I want a repair is that I have got some "North Face" branded shorts, with 4 zip pockets and lightweight quick drying material.  These normally sell for £60 (I wait for a sale price at £40).   In the absence of a suitable alternative product and considering the cost, I would like to repair

Find an old lady with a sewing machine at the mouth of many sois.

 

They have repaired replaced all sorts of stuff for me in the past.

 

Less well off thais often repair clothing and these stteet seamstresess are usually very good at the invisible repair.

There are also machinists just off Bua Khao. 

Going past Tony's Gym(if still there) on the way to Pattaya Klang, turn first left(almost opposite R-Con Residence). 

At the bottom of that soi, in the little alleys to the right, you will find machinists.

At The Avenue shopping mall, there is a clothing repair stall on the ground floor across Mr DIY.

Lady next to 7/11 corner of soi Bukhaow/soi Lengkee (directly opposite Nikom Court) is excellent,usually there from 4pm till late

Thanks for the advice.    I went to the lady in The Avenue, as that was the nearest recommendation that was open.

 

My request to "replace the lining" got lost in translation, so she just stitched up the 2 holes for 30 baht.   I should have known from the price quoted.

Small shop directly in front of Laguna 2, girl speaks good English, very reasonable charges for really good work, IMO.

4.5 years later. How is that 30 baht repair standing the test of time?

Cut of "North Face" and put it to 30 THB swap meet ones. Nobody knows.

The 30 baht repair didn't last long, but mainly due to the inadequate pocket lining material supplied by North Face. 

Those shorts were bought from a reputable shop in central London, not Patpong.  Although I suspect knock offs might be better made than the North Face product.

 
I have since bought a used sewing machine on ebay and totally replaced the nasty North Face mesh material with a solid fabric.  
That's the kind of difficult job I would like to get done in Thailand, but they only seem to be interested in the easy jobs.
Another difficult job that I've managed myself is adding a zip to existing trousers.  

 

I'd still prefer to outsource such work, but if no one wants to tackle difficult work, I'll do it myself.    

 

Incidentally, there's also a guy doing repairs and modifications on the east side of Tuk Com, near the post office (last checked March 24).

He added some velcro to pockets for me.   I think it was about 50 baht.
