Looking for a Gynecologist in Bangkok

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am looking for a Gynecologist in Bangkok, who is experienced with menopausal and perimenopausal patients.  Other criteria includes being able to speak English.  Having received training in the U.S. is a plus.  I prefer female doctor, but will consider male doctor as well.  I know Bumrungrad and Bangkok Hospital have a lot of good doctors that meet these criteria; however, both hospitals are a bit too pricey for me.  I’d like to explore other hospitals or clinics first.  Will appreciate any recommendations.  Thanks and look forward to your reply.

Sincerely,

Y Chang

Are you looking for bioidentical HRT? Or what exactly?

Very, very few Thai doctors know anything about bio-identical HRT and I don't think you will find it outside of the hospitals you say you can't afford.  Many of us DIY it.

If the problem is something else, like functional bleeding , then a different sort iof expertise is needed, so please clarify.

Unless expensive tests are involved (scans etc), other private hospitals aren't that much less expensive especially for a doctor with Western training (the doctors set their own fees).

If what you need will entail lab tests can probably save some money by doing the labs first elsewhere but again, I need more information to be able to advise you.

Hi Sheryl,

Thank you for your reply.  A bit more of the background information: I have been having abnormal vaginal bleeding for a few months now.  I have been seeing a gynecologist here in Thailand (from a hospital).  She has performed D&C and hysteroscopy with a polyp removed.  However, the bleeding still remains.  She said the next step to treat the bleeding will be "to remove the womb".  At this point, I'd like to get a second opinion.  While searching for gynecologists, I notice most of them are specialized in reproductive endocrinology and infertility or maternal-fetal medicine, not in menoupuase.  As I am in between menopause and perimenopause and I believe the issue is more related to menopause, I believe a gynecologist with such experience will be more suitable for my case.  As for language, I don't speak Thai; I can only communicate in English.  Appreciate any advice from you in advance!
