LomSak27
So there I was, doing a visa run back in the aughts, minding my own affairs, when … Walked past the Namphu fountain and was hailed by a guy I spent the morning in line with. What the hell, why not be sociable. I ordered a beer and joined him. But before I had my second, well deserved, pull on the beer, I was hit by; “I don’t understand why a women would marry you, and she already has a husband?!!” Bam!, Here we go .. Here comes the life story. ???? Edited February 20, 2020 by LomSak27
Popular Post Seth1a2a
And sometimes it even works out to be a foursome where the wife gets money from the "hansum man" , gives it to the Thai husband who then gives a nice portion to his young mia-noi . "Hansum man" is paying for the husbands piece on the side and the wife is getting the attention she needs. One big happy family. No offense but this type of revelation should have been covered in your first semester of Thailand 101 . 2

Their dramas match any of the craziness I've encountered (or experienced myself) with the foreigner-bar girl relationships. You're just caught up in the 'my girl is different' fantasy, there's at least a 50% chance it will end as badly as anyone else's. Probably more as you seem particularly gullible. Whatever..... Sorry, you've only got to look at the top guy in the country to realise your 'Thai relationships are different' post is BS. Only the amounts of money the guys have are different. I'm living with a 'bar girl', she's actually turned out to be a bit dull compared to everyone else's relationships (of any mixed nationalities). The occasional 100bht note missing from my wallet at night, and where have you moved my 'xxxxxx' is about the biggest dramas we have. I expected much more drama, my former Brit virgin schoolteacher wife was far more crazy. Edited February 20, 2020 by BritManToo 2
Popular Post digibum
There's a girl that lives up in my wife's hometown and whenever we go up there for songkran or whatever she'll usually visit because my wife and her went to school together when they were kids and the families all know each other. She's married to a Thai guy, but about 30% of the time she comes over, she brings her farang boyfriend. Same guy, for about 7 years. Nice guy. The Thai husband knows about the farang boyfriend but the farang boyfriend doesn't know about the Thai husband. Or so I'm reminded every time she comes over so I don't slip and point out the obvious in front of everyone and cause somebody to lose face. She had the farang thinking they were going to get married and he tried to get her a visa to come visit him in Europe and, surprisingly, the embassy declined her application. Shocking. So then she's calling my wife (because, farang husband) asking her to ask me how to get her visa approved at an embassy from a country I am not from. I told my wife, "Tell her to quit being a whore. That helps." My wife laughed but then pretended not to be amused by my crude remark. LOL. He eventually figured things out and dumped her and, boom, she was on a bus to Samui to get her another one. 3

The OP made no mention of "loads of holidays" Yes I am not native English speaker but English is sort of my second language as we were colonized by the British for 200 years. let me clarify. My girlfriend was probably jealous as she saw a thai girl who is ugly, middle aged, cannot converse properly in English, doesn't have a proper job , was issued a visa to UK. Whenever she asks me of a trip to Europe, I always tell her that it's expensive for me and visa is not easy. She asked me how she can get visa and not you and me. I had to explain to her may be the farang man wrote on paper as guarantee of taking care of all expenses and other things while she is in UK. From where I live, visa for Europe, uk, usa is still a luxury. Edited February 20, 2020 by lovethai123

Not all are the same. Not all Thai-Thai relationships are the same, neither are all Thai-Western relationships the same and those dating Thai Bar girls or money hungry occupational farang hunters or anyone else who would stay with a guy primarily for money / security have no experience of a normal life on the other side of the fence.

I checked with my gf and she can stay in that farangland country for three months. Strange that the I/o's of the farangland let her in given the fact that her English skills are very poor and she doesn't have a job. In my country the embassies need a lot of papers regarding job/business, tax returns, education , even property papers in some cases. And here we go. A thai bar girl can visit a farangland because she has a farang boyfriend. Am I jealous? Yes. PS- I have never seen any farangland country and would love to visit one ,and offcourse with my thai girlfriend.

I was young and dumb in my early 20's and proposed to a girl but got lucky that she got cold feet. Illness, divorce, accident is waiting for us all. Illness; perhaps. Accident, possibly. Death; definitely. Divorce, not everyone. Thats the difference between you and a lot of other posters. Because your relatoinships have failed and you are now paying for them you expect everyone else's relationships to fail or everyone else to have to pay for them to maintain a status quo. I can never say never: No relationship is perfect, but many are very happy, myself included (12 years), anything can happen, but if my marriage did fail I would not draw the parallel that all relationships are doomed and based solely around money, or that Thai Women are better than Western Women. You seem to express that Thai Women are better than Western women because they have chosen financial security and have learned to ’shut up’ when you pay them to ’know their place’ - they are employees. It would be difficult to sit next to some of our ThaiVisa members in a pub let alone live with them. I’m not surprised their relationships are a succession disasters, or that they can look back on past relationships and see them as a disaster, they themselves are often the weak-link and its obvious to everyone around them if not themselves. I have a friend who recently went through a divorce. He fails to see that every problem which existed in his marriage is primarily down to him and partially down to a wife who refused to be treated like a slave - she was financially independent (wealthy), worked in a high level position with an international company and didn’t need to put up with his S£!t. None of my past relationships were a disaster and I don’t regret any of them. That we were well matched is not their fault, nor mine, we are just different or grow apart or see more of someone and make a choice that they are not for us.
