Ais Gprs

Featured Replies

I have no problems logging on to the Internet but am

confused by my Nokia N series phone.

There are two icons which appear to do the same thing.

One icon is called WEB and the settings tell me it is

connected via AIS-GPRS-Internet.

The other icon is called SERVICES and the connection

is AIS-GPRS-WAP.

Is there any difference ? They appear to be doing the same thing.

Naka.

Thanks, I read that, but am still not sure if both are doing the same thing.

Is one route better than the other ?

This site indicates the WEB version is better. I believe the WAP is to allow you to connect to a wireless access point rather then going through GPRS? And to connect to WAP compliant TVs/Stereos.

My N-80 chooses by itself. If I set the connection for AIS-GPRS-Internet. My Gmail hooks up with Gprs Streaming and Hotmail hooks up with GPRS Internet. As long as everything works, I don't care. I can choose WAP for Yahoo and it uses it, but if I choose WAP for Gmail, it connects with GPRS Streaming. I guess the phone is smarter than I am. I'm glad of that.
