The Department of Internal Trade (DIT) under the Commerce Ministry will launch a caravan of 111 Blue Flag cars to sell face masks nationwide in order to alleviate the problems of expensive masks and shortage of supply.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Jurin Laksanawisit said on Thursday (March 5) that the DIT will launch a caravan of 111 Blue Flag cars throughout the country on Thursday afternoon.

“Of 111 Blue Flag cars, 21 cars will sell face masks in Bangkok and its metropolitan areas, and 90 in other provinces,” he said.

“One pack with four face masks will sell at Bt10 per pack or Bt2.50 per piece, while each car will sell at least 10,000 face mask pieces.”

Jurin said the ministry will hold another meeting on Thursday afternoon with mask manufacturers.

Why?

Those look like those surgical cloth or paper masks that do nothing to protect the wearer from infection as opposed to the much more expensive respirator masks that when used properly do provide some protection.

The simple masks are good for those currently infected from spreading their sprays.

However I assume most people buying such masks think they protecting themselves. Which they're not.

= a little bit more than 1 million masks ...

I call it a drop in the sea ...

Knowing that there are 67 million inhabitants in Thailand and that the masks must be changed every day ...

The one or only beneficiaries of this thing are the manufacturers but surely not the people

They shoud be had up for fraud, they are as useful as mamary glands on a bullock.

Chargeing the poor people for feeling they have acquired a protection. which studies show to be ineffective.
