Covid19 covered for expat health insurance?

Featured Replies

I'm currently using an ACS health insurance policy that covers OPD. Does anyone know if all health insurance companies will cover us expats against Covid19?

I have nto heard of any which will not. A company can't exclude a disease unless it is listed in the policy as an exclusion. Obviously COVID is not listed on any policy written more than a month or two ago so all that is left to look for is whether there is a clause that excludes epidemics. These are sometimes found in travel policies but not usually general policies.

However that does nto necessarily mean they would pay for a test done on demand if you did not have medical indications for it. And symptoms of a common cold, in the absence of history of travel to risk area or known exposure to COVID, is nto an indication for COVID testing. Even flu like symptoms would nto be unless other tests failed to identify a cause and symptoms were severe.
