You just can't help yourself. What a sad thing to go through life with.

Anyway, there are fda changes as well.

If you had a shred of objectivity, getting rid of the red tape will be a good thing for everyone.

Of course it's a good thing. Should have happened 2 months ago.

Declaring it a national emergency is a good thing. Trump getting tested shouldn't really be a question mark though. He had up close interactions with people who are known to be infected and he comes into contact with many people a day.

Ah. You are very amusing. No virus you would have a place in BKK? No idea where the ignore button is when using a phone but my BS meter is getting noisy.

Please find it as soon as possible. I just added you.

Fabulous. Fascinating. Insightful. Revealing.

I note Reuters have dropped the 'deadly' corona virus. It's now the 'worrysome' Covid 19.

Yes they need a specific name for it because corona virus is a generic term and this is a specific corona virus. I'm not sure it's good to call it deadly or worrisome. Deadly is too much as that implies a level of mortality from infection that definitely isn't there even if the rate is a high as 5 percent (it's probably closer to .5 to 1  percent). Worrisome sounds silly. A virus doesn't have feelings.

The sick joke of Donald Trump's presidency isn't funny any more

"

Trump was right about one thing, and only one thing, as the coronavirus started to spread across the world. The sight of thousands of dead Americans will hurt him politically. It will also hurt many thousands of Americans in reality.

Trump’s rhetoric will make the pandemic worse. Words are now a matter of life and death
Multiple reports have detailed how Trump did not just ignore the growing pandemic; he actively sought to block his own officials’ attempts to track and stop it. Why has there been such a disastrous lack of testing? Because the president didn’t want to know the answer, and because his staff were too busy fighting each other to do the right thing.

Getting your talking points from "the Guardian"? The English Pravda?

No they arent. Most people are smart enough to look at it in real terms.

Trump haters are just sad people. Any excuse to whine.

A 103yo woman lived thru it.

That says a lot.

It says nothing.

Trump: "Google will develop a website which will be build much more quickly than websites in the past."

Yes, he has outsourced government emergency response to CEOs from Google, CVS, Walgreen, Wal-Mart, and Target. How much money will they get?  They've already been given a free advertisement for their companies from in front of the White House. And they got at least twice as much time in front of the camera than the experts he had around him.

-------------------------------------

Trump: "I am officially declaring a national emergency. Two very big words!"

We will have the bestest, most yuge national emergency, evah!

-------------------------------------

"Some doctors say it will wash through, flow through."

Sure, the virus will all be done and over in a few weeks! He thinks he was right in the first place to dismiss it.

Wonder how Trump will react when the world retaliates and bans America travellers ?

By his "logic" they should.

How the US stacks up to other countries in confirmed coronavirus cases

The United States is more in line with Italy and Iran than Singapore and Hong Kong.

He'll probably like it as he's such an extremist isolationist.

Please read your links. There was nothing in the previous regulations that stopped them doing this weeks ago. The Senate took a vote a while ago that basically confirmed the President can do whatever he likes if it benefits the USA. No Trump hate, just facts.

Why would the morality rates in the US be less than other Western countries?

A bit off topic don't you think? But I can make a reasonable attempt to answer it. Blame the Christians...

Good answer but which ones in particular?

To be fair, I dont think any president is ever prepared for a pandemic.

A "pandemic" is a viral outbreak, of an unknown strain, etc...

You cannot prepare for the unknowable

Bureaucracy and federal money distribution have always been a bit slow during emergencies in America I believe

Panic serves no purpose, being cautious is absolutely necessary though.  That is up to us, not a president.  We have necessary info from WHO and CDC, and need to follow it.

Peace

This president had a Four month head start and waste it shouting "Fake news"!!! Plenty was know and preparedness actions should had being taken.

The first case was reported in China four months ago.

By January 10, a Shanghai laboratory had sequenced the virus' genome,German scientists produced the first diagnostic test a week later ( January 17th ).

The World Health Organization began shipping those tests out to countries during the first week of February.

WHO offers the test to the US but we refuse and insist in developing and distributing our own test.

The CDC shipped 90 test kits!!!!! to state public health labs on February 6 and 7. By that point, the US had only confirmed about a dozen coronavirus cases, including two cases of person-to-person transmission.

February 12,  A problem with one ingredient in the US tests caused more than half of state labs to receive inconclusive results.

Good thing Trump restricted travel from China in January, yes?
