Artichokes in tropical Thailand

Greetings all.

My wife and I are wanting to grow artichokes here in Thailand.

Is there a variety or is are the able to grow in this climate?  We have looked in the local markets for them but have not been able to find any.  Thanks for any information and we hope all of you have a good day.

are these not grown in Thailand? as i thought they were but maybe wrong.  Cool project good luck.

A bit like Marmite. I hate them. I have never seen them here nor my Thai partner. (Issan). Might be worth a Google or a visit to a garden centre.

Back in Italy they are grown in abundance.

Good luck.

If you can grow them the best is to sell them to a 5* hotel with a western master chef....I'm pretty sure that if the price is high enough the thai/chinese will love to go there and eat them. Yes it has to be very expensive and exclusive so they can brag about having eaten them.

The question is if artichokes can be grown in Thailand.  Thank you everyone.

I used to cultivate artichokes from seed in Switzerland, difficult getting them through the winter. They stopped being of any use when temperatures went above 25°C or so.

They don't like/can't survive temperatures below -4•C/25F.

If protected, I could get them through really low temperatures. Was it worth it? Not really.
