Popular Post daveAustin Posted March 15, 2020 Popular Post Posted March 15, 2020 What time is that? Can't imagine it being that empty as still a lot of foreigners there. Anyway, we'll have the tat along next saying tourism has never looked better and they expect 50M arrivals this year. 1 1 9

Does it really matter what time it is? That airport never looks like that at any time. 4

Gross over reaction as countries gravely harm their people and economies Feel free to line up and get your dose of this "mild flu". We will all appreciate your immunity slowing down it's progress. In the meantime, there are many who will be seriously affected by this "mild flu". Professional estimates are 40% to 70% of the population will acquire this bug. Even with a 1% death rate, which at this point is on the low end of what we are seeing, that would be 240,000 dead Thai citizens, 1.2 million dead US citizens, and like numbers around the world. No question this is going to hurt economies - one way or another. 14 1 1 4

Because like all airports it has quiet times. Baggage will look deserted between flights anyway and the 'upper end' of departures is also less busy. But, yes, I've not seen it like that since it opened. 3
Popular Post legend49 Posted March 16, 2020 Popular Post Posted March 16, 2020 Staged photo shoot. More fake news. Lines labelled R and T are used normally by non mains stream airlines, like S7, Aeroflot so there wouldnt be heaps of people unless a flight was scheduled. 8 1
Popular Post samsensam Posted March 16, 2020 Popular Post Posted March 16, 2020 come on OP, looks like those photos are taken at night when passenger number are always low. if you want to make a valid point you need a baseline for comparison; photos taken at the same time of day at different dates - as reputable news organisations do as a matter of course. 3
Popular Post saengd Posted March 16, 2020 Popular Post Posted March 16, 2020 Swampy at 3am, not a check in person, cleaner, taxi driver or security guard to be seen, s pretty pointless picture. 3 1

Popular Post RichardColeman Posted March 16, 2020 Popular Post Posted March 16, 2020 Going by the darkness outside, it's probably 2.30 am and like most other airports all over the world it is pretty deserted 9

This was 9pm, we've seen similar photos at 11am and 3 pm...thats surely enough comparison, accept it, no one is travelling

I flew Qatar a bit after midnight Thursday (Friday?) and 'R' is where I checked in for the flight. 1

No question this is going to hurt economies - one way or another. Complete hogwash. The actual mortality rate statistics are so grossly being applied that it is laughable from a scientific point of view. The earth has about two or three billion people too many now. A population reduction will be better for the overall health of the planet. The flu is impacting mostly old and aged people, which is a natural evolutionary thing. Old and weak die, stronger survive and pass that on to successive generations. 3 2
bluedoc Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 King power must be suffering, watch out Leicester, no wages. i expect their funeral parlours are happy.
ezzra Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 And now that the Australian government came out with the measures last night thinks will even get bleeker as no sane airline will fly into a country that a 14 days mandatory quarantine, i for one had to cancel my upcoming trip to Oz and now wait to see what TG will do about refund or allow open ended rebooking in the future...
phkauf Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 What is missing is a photo of the immigration line a mile long because they have only 1 staff person working.

March 4th photos taking a friend to Swampy to fly back to USA after a month visiting me here Time 9:30 PM and of course this area had people arrive that filled small area of people leaving on that flight but the rest of the airport had very few people. Never seen it like that. Usually have to double park in the parking lot with the break off in case they have to move the car, this time plenty of parking spaces.
Burma Bill Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 Very similar at Don Meaung Airport (DMK) last Wednesday at 07:30am, however there was a sprinkling of passengers for the budget airlines, like me flying to Siem Reap.
DrTuner Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 Cue in TAT in 1...2... still millions of Chinese coming in for sure. They must somehow bring them in in containers or something.
sitti Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 There are actually still nearly 100,000 people arriving per day. 2
