In what way ?

I was wondering the same thing, cheaper to fly now than it was 40 years on a lot of routes, cheaper to fly than get a bus, maybe airlines are expected to run at a loss?

That wouldn't work though would it, Thai make a loss and still get the full wrath and malice of the usual; suspects on TV. ????

It won't only be Thai. At this rate of decline almost every airline in the world will require serious government financial assistance within 2 months or will be technically insolvent or facing appointment of administrators.

When/if they recover ,i am thinking fares will have to increase a lot.

I have sympathy with the airlines but Ryanair are the leeches of the skies.

Ryanair made flying possible for loads of people like me.Before Ryanair ,Aerlingus charged £200 aprox one way from Dublin to London That was 40 years ago .They are still good value for short haul if you just take one carry on bag ,and dont eat on board .
