Has anyone done this successfuly? Is there a law or some reference to official statements?

I don't wan't to be rude, just a bit cautious because of the serious matter.

It depends on the policy and services offered to it's citizens by individual Embassies.

The UK and Australia have already stated they offer no such service to provide such letters for Immigration.

(I had a reply email as such from the UK Embassy a month ago, but unfortunately deleted it).

In these unprecedented circumstances, whether they change their policy remains to be seen.

When you applied for the letter at the UK embassy because you had a "case of necessity", eg because your flight was cancelled or postponed and you were unable to arrange for alternative transportation prior to the expiration of your permission to stay?

The regulation for the extension of stay in case of necessity being discussed here is clause 2.28 of Police Order 327/2557 (2014), issued under the authority of section 35 of the Immigration Act.

This information page on the website of the Immigration Bureau gives additional information regarding the application for this extension:

I didn't apply for the letter. I saw the writing on the wall and asked the question in advance.

The reply was no such service existed for such a letter.

They don't offer any service to issue any kind of letter to Thai Immigration, including proof of retirement.

Same reply from the Australian Embassy.
