christophe75 Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 And... it's gone. Big budget (but less than some stupid military toys bought by the teenagers in uniform who call themselves soldiers and generals).... for an effect... close to zero. Perfect non-sense. My electricity bill will go down by... 3 % ? And during 3 months only ? "Darling ! Quick ! Let's buy a car and a house with this generous gift ! I'm in the mood to fire up again the national economy !" It's a textbook : before we were on "cruise pace" : 1 stupid idea per day. With the virus hysteria, all hell break loose... It's a daily festival. It's a fireworks. It's the 4th july every day. Red, blue, yellow, green ! 1 1
saengd Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 Perhaps you've noticed that Thailand is not a socialist country where mamby pamby governments cocoon citizens against all perils and shocks, here you have to stand on your own two feet which is why the economy is so successful and strong. Attaboy stalker, now up to 28 confused smilies this month. 2
djayz Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 Usually, if something is less expensive, people tend to buy or use more of it. So how is reducing the price of water doing to alleviate the drough problem?
colinneil Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 So water bills are to be reduced by 3%, bit of a joke that is, our water bill has gone up by 2.35% since december. So in effect back to what it was.
CharlieH Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 Re: Water, thats less than 5 baht a month in our case - whooppee what luxury we can afford with that saving !! 2

Misterwhisper Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 The monthly water bill in my one-person household only comes to around 100 baht, although I water my garden daily and even have a fish pond that needs to be replenished frequently. With those 3% savings I am looking forward to receiving a bill of only 97 baht next cycle. Though it will be difficult to spend that windfall of a whopping 3 baht, as all bars and massage parlors are shut down. As per my electricity bill, it rarely is more than 2,500 baht even during the hot season. Figuring that I'll spend about 75 baht less owing to the government's generosity, I am currently looking for suitable investment ideas into which to sink those huge savings. Oh, and how do I get the deposit on my meter back? Do I have to present in person at the nearest EGAT branch? Those 10,000 baht or so will be most welcome for helping finance my next vacation. In Vietnam, of course. 1
