Ipstar Modem Access

Featured Replies

Hi Folks,

I'm running XP SP2 with Internet Explorer 6.0 when I go to the Ipstar Modem home page (http://10.131.198.209:8080/xWebGateway.cgi?page=) I get a pop up window telling me that I need to use "Internet Explorer 5.0 or Netscape Navigator 6.1", which of course I don't have.

I can only see the empty boxes on the screen, no moving level indicators.

How do I access these pages? I did download Netscape Navigator 8.1.3 which let me access the home page yesterday, but won't this morning.

If I get access does anybody know the default admin password?

Does the modem have a NAT firewall or something similar (my uTorrent downloader reports the port it uses for incoming connections is blocked.) This is why I'm trying to get to the modem.

About 2 months ago it appears the password was changed in my box also, if someone knows what is now being used please inform me also. Thanks

I sent z999 a personal message, but I'll post this here too.

I found a site that lists the default usernames and passwords for lots of modems and routers:

http://phenoelit.darklab.org/cgi-bin/display.pl

For the Ipstar the two are "ADMIN" and "operator", respectively and with those cases.
