If you're from Oz, you should be making arrangements to fly back home now TBH.

Yes I was to fly to Taiwan on the 29, but could not get a flight there after it announced its closure. Second choice was Laos land exit, but turns out Laos closed yesterday. Brother's house is in quarantine and parents are in seclusion so nowhere to stay in US. I feel the same.

From today's Bangkok Post, if you are coming by air you will not be allowed to board the plane unless you have a letter guaranteeing you are covid 19 free, you have covid 19 medical insurance of a minimum of US 100,000.

Update.

They have, as usual, had to clarify their original statement.

The two documents are only required for passengers from the 15 countries/areas they have deemed as hotspots. No mention of what if you are from one of those places but have not been there for over two weeks.

Dont come to malaysia. From 8pm tonite its complete lockdown. Everyone ordered home immediately.

Basically we are under house arrest. If you have a valid reason to be out you must be wearing a mask or are fined.

In other words "don't bother coming to Thailand for a holiday or even to return home"!!

You can still return home, except to Nepal, if flights or other modes of transportation are available.

Regarding travel to Thailand, the governments of many countries have issued alerts to avoid all non-essential travel to Thailand and some other countries. Ignore this advice at your own risk and cost.

Most countries in South East Asia are closing their borders due to worsening virus infection.

It;s better that you cancel your ed visa and get back your money. Ed visa ain't urgent especially learning languages.

A medical certificate is an opinion based on observations by a medical professional.  In the case of Covid 19 a medical history and taking the temperature is all that is necessary for that observation. If the temperature is normal, then what is the difficulty.

Some COVID-19 infected people are asymptomatic, a blood test is necessary to confirm or reject infection. A temperature reading is meaningless. That's the difficulty.

They are not asymptomatic, it takes a few days for the virus to multiply and then the fever goes up.

During the first few days of infection, the temperature is normal but you are still infected.

That's why it is advisable to wear surgical mask to prevent you from infecting others.

Perhaps a letter / medical report from a licensed doctor as follows might work:

This medical certificate is to indicate that Mr. xxxxxxx shows no evidence of Covid 19 or any other respitory illlness today (xx/xx/2020).

That's what I will present to Immigration when I arrive in Thailand next week. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Seems the letter now needs to have 2 items:

_____________________________________________________________

This medical certificate is to indicate that Mr. (Ms.) xxxxxxxxx at xx/xx/2020 (today)

- Shows no evidence of the Covid 19 virus or any other respiratory illness.

- The stated person is fit to fly.

Signature:

Dr. XXXXXXXX

Qualifications

Clinic name

Clinic address

Or similar...
