Another fan of the boxing matches in Bangkok has become the first victim of the Covid-19 virus to be confirmed in Kalasin province in the Northeast.

He was ordered into quarantine for three days after acknowledging he had visited a high-risk location – one or both of the two main boxing stadiums in the capital.

Public Health officials in Kalasin are systematically retracing his steps there since returning home and sanitising the places he’s visited.

Chaithawat Niemsiri, the province’s governor, told reporters that warning signs would be posted at these places and guidelines for preventing infection would be distributed, such as washing the hands, wearing a mask and avoiding crowds.
