Siam Makro's doors closed for those not wearing face mask

Siam Makro, the operator of Makro retail malls, said that customers not wearing a face mask will not be allowed in its branches in Bangkok and nearby provinces from Saturday (March 28).

However, the mall will provide seats for those who do not wear masks, and ask its staff to take their shopping orders. Also, the staff will urge such customers to use its online shopping service.

The measure will be in place until the order is revoked when the Covid-19 situation is resolved.

So without one of these useless masks, you can't even buy groceries! I can't wait for the next gem of idiocy to come along.

Had to do some banking yesterday that could not be done online. I wore a mask ,first time, as I guessed some may be uncomfortable.

That was the case, an elderly American came in and 2 of the cashiers refused to serve him as not wearing a mask. A senior staff member did finally serve him but reluctantly.

The hype is such is that it is simpler to conform.

I wore one yesterday for quick visit to makro  I had trouble seeing while shopping so i presume i was wearing back to front or upside down you would think they would have fitting instructions

A Mask  might "help" prevent that long pinky nail ,that some Thai's have from digging

Just be a good boy, obey the rules instead of being a cranky farang. Make a mask its not that hard, an old cotton t-shirt will do the trick.

I also had this problem whilst in Big C yesterday. The reason being that as I breathed out, warm moist air fogged up my eyeglasses!

I had to adjust it a few times which meant, of course I had to put my hands up to my face. Yer can't win can yer!

Wearing a mask is unlikely to do any harm.

If a place requires it, just wear one.

Our office requires masks "at all times", most are interpreting that as "all times when moving around" so sitting at your desk staring at your PC, no mask.

Those in BKK can buy re-usable masks at many BTS and MRT stations (masks required if you want to ride the train).

However it is claimed that masks don't prevent against getting infected, it is also widely accepted that it prevents from spreading the disease if you are infected, and it is now also known since long that you can be infected and spreading the virus without showing any symptoms.

So what is wrong with asking people to wear the mask.

I was yesterday at the Banglamung post office, and you were not allowed to enter without a mask.

I had just prior to visiting been to a pharmacy to purchase a mask, but they asked 99 Baht for the type of mask that is usually for sale at hardware stores for 5 Baht.

Luckily outside the door of the postoffice was an optical stand, think sponsored by the government, and the lady gave me such a mask for free,

Wear the mask. You can take it off one you leave a shop, bank etc

it may not be doing any good, but they make people feel better, make them feel like they are doing something

And we all know that it the whole man who spreads the disease!

Outside Big C in Sakon Nakhon a stall was set up selling masks at 15-20 baht each. No one was allowed without one.

It's the same in Spain, only worse, you have to wear a mask AND gloves while shopping.

In Germany still no such rules.

They make it up as they go along.

im sure  you wont  have to wait  long, I  like to watch the mask wearers  round  here, mask up,mask  down ,  up  down up  down, scratch head, insert food  etc  just cover  mouth only, only  pull  up when getting  off  motorcycle with of  course  no  helmet, must be touching their  face way  more than even  normal..............pointless waste  of time.To wear masks  correctly youre  going to be changing them very frequently and  its hard to breath in the correct masks N95.

but  of course ......looks  is everything

erm.................can catch thru the eyes  also making it even more  pointless

 the act of lifting the mask, to spit on the veges and fruits;

- is 'quite' obvious on CCTV

it might not be deterrent against the virus directly,

 - but a hindrance to those WHO choose to help it spread...

Sounds like a good mature thinking policy Makro has.

How you going to react if you are in there and someone near you w/o a mask, starts sneezing and coughing?

Just gut it out it is now the social right thing to do here.

PS: you can make your own with an old pair of underpants if need be.  Just cover your face use imagination.

Or is that just another 'too hard' for the clever clogs farang?

You can still use your hands to sort through the meats until you find a piece you like then move on to do the same for the chicken as I see nearly everytime I go there!

exactly

In other post I said I thought a emoticon of a shocked jaw dropped look would be appropriate. I won't rush the IT dept but pls consider.

If the psuedo doctors dressed as security guards at the doors of Makro tell me I cannot spend my money in their business because I won't wear a mask, then I won't spend my money with them, ever again.

Reminds me of the movie "They Live" where the star guy found the special sunglasses that revealed to him who the aliens are. OBEY. GO TO SLEEP. SPEND. CONSUME. DONT ASK QUESTIONS. OBEY.

masks and the vaccine are the mark of the beast.

without them you get nothing.

I really don't understand people who do that..yucky  just use two of the  nearby plastic bags as mittens for chicken breast fondling you idiots...anyway at least when the meat is cooked most everything  virus and bacteria should be killed ??

This thread reminds me of one reason why I'm happy to have left Thailand ==> there are too many moaning farangs who like to make a mountain out of a molehill.

Just wear the damn masks!!!
