My partner says there is a lot of anti-falang feeling and comments on social media. Comments that falangs are dirty and the virus has spread in countries like Italy because they don't wash and wear shoes in the house. This pandemic is bringing out the inherent racism.

Can most thais afford testing and are they inclined to spend their depleted funds on a covid test or basic food for family.

 

Probably any sick farang is more able to test and if dragged to hospital very unwell will be automatically tested and if not suffering from covid will likely need heart treatment on getting the bill.

 

Simply a higher number of westerners tested so higher percentage positive and government happy to release all figures on farang covid cases but less forthcoming  with Thai figures.

9 out of 12 cases is indeed 75% and if these 9 were not Thai nationals

then they are foreigners. I don't see anything misleading there.

it's the blame game. China will lose to the West, 100%.  With people inside on their computers, the West has time to really get upset at this cover-up.  The East?  Money might talk.  China might buy up all the properties in Thailand and that might work.  

 

My experience as a farang.  I'm bad until they know I've lived here for many years.  Then I'm fine.  So speak Thai quickly to assuage their fears.

 

Will be interesting to see how this one plays out...

 

I'm guessing America will eventually pull out all their manufacturing there.  It probably comes down to how long this lasts, and how many die.  If your friend dies of COVID.....well, you might not be too happy with China.

As I understand it there are no tourists left in Pattaya, so any foreigners would be long term residents but as many of them need to do the visa run is anyone surprised how easily COVID19 is spread??? 

No surprise here....foreigners especially from china and europe. 

I am sure that if the poll was taken a week ago the figures would be significantly different.

There are over a million deaths each year from traffic accidents. There are over thirty million from heart problems.

 

At first we didn't know how much of a problem the Kung-Flu would be. We are seeing very few deaths from Covid-19. 

 

When deaths are quoted they should be alongside the expected number of deaths for Flu (Covid family have always been responsible for 10-15% of flu deaths) and how many of the dead had serious conditions which were going to kill them.

 

Thailand should open up again. Every country should look at isolating old people during flu season. It causes more harm than good to shut down the economy.
