BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand will give the public free mobile data as companies initiate work-from-home policies and schools use remote learning amid the coronavirus outbreak, a senior government official said on Tuesday as operators considered investment to expand capacity.

Beiersdorf alcohol hand sanitisers for hospitals, orphanages

Beiersdorf has opened a production centre for Nivea and Eucerin products, producing more than 20,000 litres of alcohol hand sanitisers for over 1,000 hospitals nationwide. The products are expected to be available from today (March 31).

Phuket hotels look to close during lockdown

PHUKET: The number of hotels in Phuket intending to temporarily close in April to comply with the one-month lockdown has risen to some 87%, reports Kongsak Khoopongsakorn, President of Thai Hotels Association (THA) southern chapter.

In Germany, Thai expats feel the pain of lockdown

Toilet paper, flour, sugar and spaghetti have become a rare sight on some shelves as shops in many cities in Germany are hit by panic buying.

 

Like many of the 80,000 Thais living in Germany, Nattaporn Wolf was worried when Covid-19 began spreading across the world. She has been monitoring news about the virus ever since it first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan. After it reached Italy, just to the south of Germany, she began stocking up on necessities for her family – food, toiletries and medicines.

Mae Hong Son: Foreigners ordered to stay away - night curfew until April 15th
