Water levels in dams, reservoirs at critical level

The level of usable water in dams and large reservoirs has dropped to critical levels, or lower than 30 per cent of capacity, as accumulated rain volume in the first quarter of 2020 has been lower than normal, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation reported on Wednesday (April 1).

Pattaya flower seller tells social services step dad murdered her mum five years ago - bones found at cemetery in Bang Saen

A nine year old child in the care of Chonburi social services told staff that five years ago her stepfather attacked and murdered her mother and buried her at the Sawang Phon cemetery in Saensuk district.

PHUKET: National police chief Gen Chakthip Chaijinda visited the Phuket Check Point yesterday (Mar 31) to “encourage” the officers there, who have been inundated with at least hundreds people either wanting to come back home to Phuket or leave Phuket to get back home since the order to close the bridges linking the island with the mainland was issued on Sunday.

Two more patients die as 120 new Covid-19 cases confirmed

Thailand’s total number of Covid-19 patients rose to 1,771 with 120 new cases confirmed over a 24-hour period and two patients dying, Taweesin Visanuyothin, spokesman of the government's Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration, said on Wednesday (April 1).

BOT responds to online payment breakdowns

Makro reserves two hours for elderly and those with special needs

Makro store has reserved two hours on all days -- from 6am to 8am -- for the elderly and those with special needs due to the current Covid-19 situation. It has also adjusted the opening and closing hours for general customers from 8am to 8pm.

New measures to control contagion in Bangkok

Bangkok governor Asawin Kwanmuang on Wednesday (April 1) issued additional measures to curb the spread of Covid-19, which includes shutting convenience stores from midnight to 5am as of Thursday (April 2). The governor also sought cooperation from street vendors.

China has fewer new coronavirus infections, starts posting tally of symptom-free cases

BEIJING (Reuters) - China reported dwindling new infections on Wednesday in the global coronavirus pandemic and started to publish the daily change in cases that are free of symptoms, although the latter could complicate the picture of trends in the disease.
