Dozens of buildings were left destroyed or damaged in Loei after a storm slammed into the northeastern province on Thursday (April 2).

Strong winds hit at around 8pm and raged for the next 40 minutes, causing blackouts and damage in several districts.

Houses and farm buildings were among structures destroyed by the force of the gales, leaving many workers without livelihoods

Government officials were sent to inspect the damage and help people whose properties were impacted by the storm.

Volunteers have been mustered to help reconstruct destroyed and damaged homes amid fears that the storms will return soon.
