Would be kind nice to know which markets he's referring to. Didn't see much overcrowding in any of the big stores (Makro, Big C, Villa) and all the open air markets were shut long ago.

Kids shouldn't be playing together at all. They should be locked down inside their house like the rest of us. As kids have no need to go out for shopping or any other reason, they won't need to wear masks.

My knowledge are still facts and they are far from out of date. According to The Alien Registration Act BE 2493, a foreigner must carry either a, for the country, a valid ID card or Passport. If not he can be fined 1 000 baht, and also must be able to provide his Passport or ID at a later time.

If this is enforced or not, is irrelevant. The law is the law, and they can chose to enforce it at any given second.

You could produce an MC license, which at present time is considered as a valid document of identification inside Thailand.

The logic is probably that if you wear a mask, if and when you come close to someone else, the risk of transmission is lower.

A small pharmacy on Thappraya Road had plenty, so I imagine many small pharmacies might have them. They had a choice of washable cotton mask and paper masks and said they were getting in surgical masks.

I couldn't care less what theoretically could happen i.e. police ask for a passport whilst walking down a road, in practice it doesn't happen, i haven't seen 1 single thread saying it happened (try and find one). Avoiding the checkpoints, a copy of passport is fine, i also have a driving licence on me. BTW a falang was mugged in Jomtien a couple weeks ago, keep your passport well hidden just in case

So, on one side you say that you do not care about what could happen, but on the other side it could happen that you are mugged so out of that reason it´s better to keep it hidden. Must be nice to turn things around as you like to see them.

30 baht for cloth mask 4 for 100 so can wash sterilise and recycle.

Passports - everyone will decide themselves, but what we have always done up to now is not applicable during these extraordinary times. The governor has issued an order stating foreigners are to carry there passports. I think that is pretty clear.

Imo some of the reasons why the spread has been very low in Thailand are probably 

because the virus doesn't like the hot air, also Thai people don't shake the hands

to say hello or goodbye, so the ''wai'' custom has certainly saved a lot of people.

Many pharmacies have a small selection of the home-made cloth face masks available at 25 or 30 Baht each. At least they'll save you from getting fined if you come across a cop with toothache.

First you wrote that you do not care about what could happen. In the second sentence you gave a recommendation out of the reason that you could be mugged. Seems to me that you care deeply about the "could-factor". But only when you are at risk, and not when the law states something. ????

All the other roads are barricaded. The location of checkpoints is published so people who have a valid reason to enter/leave know where to go.
