coming to the end of isolation week 4. apathy has really set in now. I have lost all will to do anything productive. My days basically consist of eating, drinking and reading.

3 activities that on the surface are harmless, but couple that together with not wanting to get out of bed and basically laying on the couch all day and they could be a deadly combination.

I shower twice a day, but why? What is the point?

by the time i'm back on the couch within ten minutes i usually spill some doritos dip on my vest anyway.

i'm gaining a lot of weight. I have a weight set upstairs but i can't be bothered opening it.

whats the point?

I don't see any.

depending on how long this lasts my apathy may eventually turn into nihilism. something I don't really want to experience but it's perry hard not to go down that path once already on it.

The financial fall out of this corona virus pandemic will have severe worldwide ramifications for years to come. Hundreds of millions will be out of work and thrown into poverty.

this will affect all of us greatly in one way or the other and to be honest I just don't care anymore.

Anybody else feeling this way?

anyone managing to stay positive despite all the obvious signs of catastrophe on the horizon?

i still do care, but i would like more money.  I'm healthier now than in the last 4 years, feeling very strong.  I could run a marathon in this heat.  I wasn't afraid to go to war decades ago, I'm not afraid of this.  I'll walk the planet if I have to.

if you want to feel better, send me money and help others.

That's about it. I have a workshop, to go "play" in if I want, there is the internet and a whole range of things to do there or get involved in.

Plenty of Tv /movies to watch if I choose, no complaints here at all.

Totally opposite of you. I always work from home. Now sports more in my home gym, eat healthier then before.

Life is what you make of it. But maybe because I am not a bar type my life is good. If you need bars and girls and stuff like that your in trouble now.

I'd love to go into 4 weeks of  isolation, my daily rouyine is 6am to 6pm at work monday to friday then run around like a loon on saturdays doing some shopping then sunday relax in the pool with a few JD's.

Yes. kind of. to all that.  In the absence of gym and coffee with friends, I undertake small tasks around the house, just to keep my legs moving.  the pool has never been cleaner.  But yes, I know I am eating too much and drinking more that I used to and more than is really good for me. My wife is stuck at her Mothers house in the north, so its just me, which is also not too good for long periods of time.  Not sleeping too well either.  The highlights are the all too brief trips to Tesco or Big C for the most trivial of items, just to get out. Rather defeats the objective I know.

problem for me is that i'd be doing exactly the same even if we didn't have covid (apart from watching live sports)

Just wait till they null and void the premier league season, that should just about tip you over the edge.    Anyway cheer up any day above the ground is better than a day below.

What keeps you from exercising ? You said you had a gym set. Good for your mental state too. You seem depressed. Its sad that some people cant entertain themselves. Letting yourself go like this is not doing you any good on the long run. Why not use this time to improve on yourself.

Well,  why not?   Why not post something that surely most of you will scoff at, maybe ridicule,

or bombard me with the FACTS  that you have read from sources you choose to trust.

Of course,  its only Rumak   hahaha   .   You know these types ..."conspiracy guys"  .

Really, arguing about who believes we are in a world changing situation where life or death is

at stake..... or maybe where freedom and truth are being killed,  what does it matter?

We are given our orders,  and those who disobey will pay dearly.

I am not a journalist, but i am someone who does not trust what is force fed to us daily.  I have

over 60 years of experience.  Hearing what governments tell us,  or promise us, over and over.

And all i can say is..... are you kidding me?    Am I the only one (well, i do believe there are a few others)  that sees a pattern.  LIES !     Laws, military, police,  taxes, forced insurance, never ending inflation,  health care where costs defy reality.   And to top it all off   NO FOOTBALL !

Just when Liverpool was going to raise the trophy.  ( i just added that for the Op  ????

I know attention spans are short in this day and age.....  so here is a Link for those who want some more FACTS.   Well,  opposing facts.   I just don't care anymore........

its a damn sight better than being in the UK or many other countries right now, notwithstanding the restrictions.

that fact that I no longer care keeps me from exercising.

I see no point personally.

The world is about to go into total meltdown before the years out.

This goes way beyond covid-19. It's about humans and how their selfish ways have bestowed hell upon the planet and everybody else.

I actually started a very healthy diet when this whole thing started so feeling pretty good.

The mental side of it could be the breaking point for many.

I miss golf, going to the movies, eating in restaurants, having breakfast with friends, watching sports.

Just staying home and now saying your life has not changed, does not sound like much of a life to me.

have you ever been to Grimsby? Almost anywhere else is better, regardless of any restrictions. .

A Liverpool pensioner has died and left all his worldly possessions to complete strangers.

Although they were the original owners.

Well if beer and girls is your only or prioritized focus I suggest you have bigger concerns.

I would rather be in Thailand right now than a number of other countries in this crisis.

I started exercising each day. Just out of plain boredom, but it got me feeling darn good again. Just 30 minutes per day. It gives me a sense of fulfillment at the end of the day. Just like after a day of honest work.

All this after just 4 weeks, Are you looking for sympathy? Do you need attention by writing this post? or are you just weak willed. Whatever the reason, you need to pull yourself together and think positive,  For many people it's all doom and gloom and that's all they can see or in fact want to see. It's all a state of mind. Sure the world has problems, and yes, maybe things won't be the same but things will go on.

I have gym equipment at home, plenty of food and entertainment, my dogs, the wife so life is good. Drinking, bars, curfew etc does not affect me at all. The main issues for most people to deal with are psychological. I was prepared for something  like this and am comfortable with my own company so am unaffected thus far. The wife finally admitted  that I was not crazy for having  been prepared long term instead of just for the next few days. Take care everyone and try not to make too many babies ????

now that is true. And boy, do I miss good fish and chips.

The OP seems to be getting close to clinical depression, which is very real but also treatable. I know. Doctors can actually help.

I would love nothing more than a good old fish and chips tonight.

nigh on impossible to find a good one out here though.

Same with donner kebabs.

Best I had was in Pattaya and certainly don;'t fancy going there at the moment ????

I stopped caring 30 years ago when my daughter died in her first year of life. But I did not let that stop me from enjoying each day that I was given and she was not.
