Mo Chit 2 Bus Terminal, which is usually crowded with travellers heading home for Songkran, now appears to be completely empty amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Most of the people who came to work in Bangkok usually go back to visit their families during Songkran, but because of the spread of Covid-19, the government prohibited the traditional celebration and instructed people to stay put in their residences rather than travel and risk contracting the dreaded virus.

The result of the government’s measures is a bus terminal devoid of passengers, since inter-provincial bus trips have been cut to only a few per day and people decide not to travel to play safe.
