david2923
when applying for the first one year visa, two guys from immigration came to our house. Should I be expecting them to come again for second 1 year extension?
Popular Post BritTim
I assume you are applying for a second extension of your permission to stay based on a Thai spouse. If you are applying in Bangkok, another house visit is improbable. If applying in many up country immigration offices, house visits every year are more likely. 1

I am on my 4th only time visited was the 1st year. As Joe said, if they are going to visit you again, they will let you know upon your application, whether it's the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th one, if they have no reason to visit you, they won't.

In Pathum Thani they make house visits - every year - since at least 5 years / last week they came to our house and it took only 5 minutes and it was friendly. That is certainly immigration's attitude at some offices. "What - no envelope? We'll Show YOU for not playing our corruption game!" At other offices, "by the book" is apparently not a problem. Sometimes a different desk at the same office is fine, while another is a nightmare.

You should really tell us what province you live in when asking questions about I O's as they all have their own personal rule book that they make up as they go along. USNret
Anyone find that visits are less common due to virus/social distancing? Like, we don't even let our parents come visit our house right now. Why should we let 2 strangers in from the police station? If they do choose to show up, can we meet them outside in the street & not invite them in? Edited April 22, 2020 by USNret
