Thai Lion Air ready to fly domestic routes in May

Thai Lion Air is ready to reopen domestic routes by May 1 and assured it had no intention to go out of business.

The airline said that the unemployment letters previously publicised were not for all 4,000 employees but only for 120 who had not worked for at least one year.

Those employees already had discussions with Thai Lion Air before being laid off.

The airline is likely to give an opportunity for employees to go on leave without pay or voluntarily quit in May, as the company has to cut cost due to the impact of the pandemic, the company said.

So if it is going to be ok for them to fly, ( this will be bringing people out together again in the 100s ) will all the bars / restaurants etc be reopening? I also heard about Air Asia doing the same.

Sounds wonderful...definitely will boost Thai peoples moral.

Can anyone assure the Thai people that this air travel will not bring the virus to their province?  This should not become a drag race between competing airlines...more like a turtle race...err on the side of caution...

What about nok air ?

Nok Air is the only airline that has never stopped flying at least to Chiang mai. One flight a day to DMK at the moment. Thai Vietjet has missed the odd day but is generally been a single daily flight also.
