I applied for 30 day extension letter from embassy etc tourist visa. Gave me until 22nd April and told me to come back for the extra 7 days. Went there today thinking not a problem one day early as my flights scheduled for 28th.the one women at UK said come back tomorrow the other said even if you fly out 6 days later there's no overstay charge.should I go back tomorrow or go airport 27th and hope I'm not charged. Thanks

I know the extra visit to Immigration is irritating, but I would play it safe and go. My own analysis is that, when you are under consideration for an extension, you do not have formal permission to stay in the country. Make sure you are legal and get that stamp.

The are not charging a fine for overstays at this time.

What would situation be for someone that went into overstay situation prior to March 26.

Example they had permission of stay till say march 20 and did nothing. Where they could of obtained extension (as many did)

What happens when they eventually exit Thailand?

Report today by a person that failed to do his extension last month and was only fined for the days prior to the 26th.

Ubon Joe - I have a 1 year multiple entry Non-O Visa which expires in 2021. I need to do a border bounce on 6th May. Does the new immigration amnesty apply to me ? Many thanks.

It does apply to you.

You can stay until July 31st.

A permission to stay that expired before March 26 will be on overstay if they didn't have an embassy letter, right?

Apparently yes. Not sure having a embassy letter would make any difference.
