when going to a video website and try to open a video I get this message:

Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Macromedia's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player.

Java is on and Flash player is up-to-date!

This website worked OK in the past!

Not sure if this is connected.

Do you have Zone Alarm installed on your Computer?

There is a bug / virus associated with the file vsmon.exe which Zone Alarm uses for online monitoring – Google “vsmon.exe” and you’ll get lots of hits about this.

It can also use a LOT of CPU resources – go to Windows Task Manager (Ctrl – Alt – Del and click “performance" Tab).

I had several problems with viewing Videos online and uninstalled Zone Alarm, after that the problem was resolved.

I for one do not have Zone Alarm on my computer, yet am experiencing the same problem as the first poster.

In Internet Explorer go to Tools then Internet Options, click on the Security tab and go down to Scripting of Java Applets and check to be sure that the enabled box is checked.

I've just checked. Scripting of Java Applets is in fact enabled. Yet, download problem still exists.

It is enabled, also tried with ZoneAlarm off, same thing.

But I may have to note that I access the video site in question in an "indirect" way.

That there is more than likely your problem. The indirect way blocks the port needed to do the download.
