webfact Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 Pattaya beaches: Police out with drones and loudspeakers ensuring the beaches remain shut Picture: Pattaya Covid-19 The Pattaya Covid-19 page on Facebook featured a story about a Thai disaster mitigation foundation working with Pattaya police to keep the beaches free of people during the pandemic. Several pictures showed drones being deployed on the beaches of the resort. Picture: Pattaya Covid-19 Fitted with loudspeakers it appeared that the drones were helping to ensure that people were obeying the signs erected after the beach bans were announced. The story said that people were obeying the rules about congregating on the beach. scubascuba3 Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 This morning around 6.45am i saw a police pickup stop outside the beach road police station with a few farangs in the back, looked like they'd been picked up for either drinking in a group or on the beach 2
Thaiwrath Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 Surely there is enough police in that photo to ensure regulations are adhered to, when kind people are donating food to the needy, rather than send them home hungry ? Or, maybe, playing with their new toys (drones) is more important ! 1 1
OnTheGround Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 From May 1, people hope some restrictions will be lifted. Access to beach and alcohol ban (not neccessary in that order) are expected by most. Done my best to Stay Home, but boredom and weight gain due to lack of exercise are now obvious. If the low number of new infected are for real, will some restrictions be lifted? May 1 we will know. 2

rasmus5150 Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 How many Thai Police does it take to operate a drone? How many to change a light bulb. How many to arrange food donations? 2

mok199 Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 Ha Anything to avoid manual labour...I watched as 4 sat in their truck trying to shame a crowd away pleading over the loudspeaker and flashing their lights..no way in hell were those lazy cops walking over to talk to the crowd....

mrfill Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 Looks more like Daft Punk making a new video. Was that 2 metres or 2 centimetres?
Burma Bill Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 Quote from an earlier press article:- "Manager said there were about 20 stranded foreign tourists on a several kilometer stretch of Samui's "most beautiful beach". They were all observing social distancing and some were swimming" If people can go the beach in Samui, why not in Pattaya???
Krataiboy Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 Just more boys with silly toys. If Pattaya doesn't commit suicide it sure won't be through lack of trying. 1
mikebell Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 Pattaya Plod is staffed 100% with drones. The photo shows 9 of them at work! 1
