The Department of Internal Trade (DIT) has submitted a letter to the Customs Department to allow entrepreneurs to export chicken eggs from May 1.

Previously, Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister Jurin Laksanawisit had said on March 31 that the Committee for Prices of Goods and Services had agreed to extend the ban on export of chicken eggs until April 30 to prevent any shortage in domestic markets.

Officials at the Commerce Ministry said that DIT deputy director-general Prayoth Benyasut has submitted a letter to the Customs Department director-general, stating that the ban on export of chicken eggs had already passed the deadline.

“This will allow entrepreneurs to export chicken eggs from May 1 onwards,” the officials said.

Wow!

Today is number 3 May. The ban on exporting eggs expired 1 May.

10 minutes ago I went to my local Mom and Pop store to buy my usual tray of eggs.

'Sorry' was the reply - they've run out …….

So no eggs available.

All gone to <deleted> China then!

Better price.
