Australia and New Zealand reacted quickly. A total of 118 deaths for both countries, 4 deaths per million population.

Get real. Both countries have easily closed borders as surrounded by sea. That's the single thing, IMO that made a difference.

Far as death numbers are concerned, a country full of people with no immunity locked down, and that may change when lockdown is ended.

If you want reality, Morrison declared COVID-19 a pandemic even before the WHO did. That's on record.

Herd immunity isn't working too well for the nations that are trying it, such as Sweden. 291 deaths per million.

Please explain the difference to me between locking down for coronavirus, and quarantine for swine fever, which would decimate the pork industry if it ever got loose in Australia and New Zealand.

Long term it may work very well, since they managed to avoid the much feared health system overload.

Looks to me America has the double whammy - herd immunity non-existent, hospitals past breaking point.

Yes some countries run out of hospital beds, others run out of vulnerable people to sacrifice.

"Citing no evidence..."  Who produces this inane stuff?

It is more than abundantly clear that the DNC, Pilosi, Schumer, Nadler, et al., are overtly obsessed with targeting the President of the USA with everything negative imaginable, including the proverbial 'kitchen sink', if it has any chance of preventing him from succeeding in protecting and positively serving the very best interests of 'America and Americans'.

What is stunning is that these opposing 'forces' are apparently seeking failure to enable them to acquire future power.  If any scenario is repulsive to logic of public governance this equation certainly is to sober men.

To even think for a second that these 'forces' are not targeting President Trump is more than naive.  It is ludicrous indeed.

Name one dem  or dem surrogate including their (as reported)propaganda machine  cabal that has given credit  to the task force or Mr. Trump for their efforts ! Can you!

Credit for inaction and incompetence? Or credit for his re-election speeches disguised as covid briefings?

Are you saying PEOPLE would be locked down for swine fever? I don't understand what point you are making.

So 3 years ago we were the leader of the free world, but now we aren’t. And if we elect a democrat as president, we will resume being the leader of the free world?

NO if an elected person with competence was to enter the WH, maybe, just maybe, USA may be able claw back some credibility. This is about competence (Competence is the ability to do something well or effectively). Not something the current incumbent is noted for. (I will not mention disinfectant)

That doesn’t make sense.

The Immigration closure happened after the disease had already crossed the respective borders.

There is also increased testing going on, yes there will be more notified cases as the restrictions are lifted, but the system will not be overwhelmed, and due to good observation of restrictions, along with social distancing there has been very little community clusters, two major exceptions (RACF and a meat works)

Beware, Pence is doing some double-talk about testing these days.  He may say "tests were done" and goes on to say that assuming that they were processed to get the results of them would be an error on YOUR part.  If this doesn't make sense to you then you get the point.  He said it at one off those press conferences in the past week or 2, there vids of it out there.

The GOP stance on testing, coming down from the top, is that less testing means less known cases.  The spineless fall in line.

My response was in response to a post on Aust and NZ, not USA.

I am not surprised at  nonsensical musings from within WH, happens by osmosis I think
