rooster59 Posted May 10, 2020 Posted May 10, 2020 Gingerly start as Samut Prakan market reopens By THE NATION Bang Nam Pheung Market in Samut Prakan province reopened on Saturday (May 9), after it was closed for two months in line with the government’s lockdown measures to deal with the Covid-19 crisis. Unlike before, the market this time had temperature checking points for visitors. Anyone registering 37.5 degrees Celsius or higher was prohibited from visiting the market. Those who passed the checking points got a sticker and some alcohol-based sanitiser on their palm from the market staff. All stalls, especially those selling food and dessert, were partitioned by plastic screens to protect sellers and customers from infection. Two sides of noodle restaurants were partitioned by screens as well. Fewer products than usual were sold on Saturday, and some shops remained closed. Around 80 per cent of shops were open. A trader of grilled pork with lemongrass said that she had cooked only 15 kilograms of the pork, since she was not sure whether 30 to 40 kilograms like she used to sell in the past would be too much for the first day. toofarnorth Posted May 10, 2020 Posted May 10, 2020 I was hoping the walking street up here in Maechan would be open Friday but alas no.
