Popular Post colinneil
Early start this morning, wife driving to Nong Kai to an uncles funeral, so i got woken at 4. Clatter, bang, clatter, ( she can never do things quietly ). Of she goes at 5, sod this i will get a bit more sleep, no chance, dogs kicking off, cows kicking off, so i get up feed them. Sitting here at my computer, hear a neighbour shouting Colin Colin, what is going on, so out i go, he was doing me a favour cutting the long grass outside the front wall, and he broke the house water supply right next to the meter..... S++t. Phones my wife, get your B.I.L. over see what needs done to fix it, useless sod comes over, looks at it, turns walks away. Only thing left, phone PWA, which i did, gave the lady our address, 30 minutes later 2 men in a pickup turn up. Only 5 minutes job sorted, so i gave them a large LEO each, everybody happy. Sit back now and wait for the next problem. 15 1

Popular Post Crossy
Get the neighbour a nylon-line head for his brush-cutter then he won't do it again ???? I won't allow Madam to use the brush-cutter with the solid blade, her lack of spacial awareness means that anyone attracting her attention would be taken off at the knees when she swung round. The nylon line stings but not a lot else, I know Great service from PWA. We had a similar reaction time when our water meter "fell off" after the bit of wood which the builders used to "install" it finally rotted away after 4 years. 10 1

When the zealous neighbor starts to cut I just wait for it. Better have strong wooden poles around. They will always find the water pipe.

Great idea Charlie, if it was just the pipe he broke it could have been easily fixed, i have pipe, bends , glue etc. Problem was he broke the connection at the meter, not the pipe, so nothing i could do. How he managed that i have no idea, its about 450 mill above the ground. 1

There aint no one to call here, gotta sort it yourself or know a man who can. ????

I have two big barrels full of the stuff, anything you can imagine! Somehow when i want to build something or even a repair, the part i need is not there and i end up going to the shop again.Lately not much going on. We have underground 2' plastic pipe and i always have to tell the gardener to watch out and not break a pipe while digging somewhere. He forgot a few times but now he realizes he is the one that has to dig it all up and fix it.

My emergency glue (of any kind) is always solid when I need it. Surelynot
Moved out of my tiny, 'quiet' village, Village No 18..........cannot stand the noise. Motorbikes, rice tractors, cocks (various types), temple speakers, village speakers, hawkers with PA systems, 5 day funerals, personal music systems, dog fights.....never mind the charcoal cooking and constant bonfires for no apparent reason.........moved into a Thai 'resort' (a no tell Motel).....heaven at B500/day. Free electricity, free water, room cleaned and new towels and linen everyday, proper shower and toilet....sorted. With the fridge it holds years after being opened. 1

I lived out in the sticks forra while on a private estate that backed onto overgrown land with a bit of a pond .. At night during the rains the noise of the frogs who hung out there croaking and chirruping was deafening .. then I'd see some lights darting about .. bit like when someone waves a torchbeam at night and all the while the noise is deafening from the little croakers .. Couldn't work it out .. None of the frogs I'd seen when growing had grown lights or danced .. Mystifying didn't do it justice .. Next morn' me and the bird ride into her village stopping at her Mothers place .. On the floor outside the house in shade was a cloth sack 'bit like a potato sack .. I'm sat on the bike outside while she's in doors when my eye is caught by this sack moving .. not a lot but definitely moving .. My imagination goes into overdrive " a bloody snake and a big one " I'm thinking .. after about 10 minutes staring intently at this moving sack bird comes back , I point at sack saying " what is in there a bloody Python I'll bet !! " .. she laughs calls her brother who comes out puts his hand in the sack and pulls out one of the frogs him and his buddies had caught the night before wearing lights on their heads to hypnotise the little critters before bagging them .. So much for my dancing frogs with lights theory .. 1

The other day watched a neighbor do some pipe work at his place. He had a pair of special cutters, a bit like garden sheers, to cut the blue plastic pipe, made the job dead easy. I'd never seen these before, always used a hacksaw, but that has the problem of cleaning up the rough edges and all that. This tool made a nice clean job ready for gluing, AND had the advantage of using in confined space, like the ground, where a hacksaw is notoriously difficult to use. Shall definitely be looking for one of these on my next trip.

Confined space, you just take the hacksaw blade off, wrap some tape around one end, and use it free hand. There's no tool smaller than a bare hs blade. They work well on new pipe, but pipe that's aged and hardened may crack. Don't throw away that hacksaw blade. 3
