Thailand’s Democrat party has accused the Progressive Movement of distorting facts about the crackdown on red-shirt protesters in Bangkok by the government of then Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva a decade ago, in order to discredit him and to turn the public against him.

Party spokesman, Mr. Ramet Rattanachaweng, said that Mr. Abhisit, and Mr. Suthep Thaugsuban, then deputy prime minister, had been cleared by both the Supreme Court and the National Anti-Corruption Commission and that the crackdown was legitimate and within the scope of their duty to restore peace and order.

Mr. Ramet’s statement today was in response to messages, about the bloody crackdown, projected by laser onto several buildings, including the Defence Ministry, on the 10th anniversary of the event on the night of May 10th. The violent incident left about 100 people, including protesters, officials and innocent by-standers dead and injured over 2,000.  More than 30 buildings, including the Central World shopping mall, were set on fire when troops used lethal force to disperse the demonstrators.

shocker; politicians distorting facts ? bald-faced professional liars, the bunch

Is here any evidence/proof that the so called Progressive Movement' planned and/or executed these images onto buildings?

I haven't seen any reports as such, in fact I've been wondering how/what technology the people involved were using to project the images? Has anybody noticed and specific reports detailing how the images have been projected/broadcast?

There was only one thing wrong with that crackdown: It was too late. The police should have removed the armed red mob as soon as they erected their barricades.

And the red leaders should be in jail.

You nailed it!! Same with the intersection blockages a few years later.

OK i get it. But nothing should be done about the international airport blockade a few years earlier.

Yes there is. "Chor" Pannika Wanich, one of the leaders of the Progressive Movement admitted that it was her group that projected the images onto buildings in Bangkok.

Note that the Progressive Movement in this case is a movement created by the banned politicians of the dissolved Future Forward Party, not the UDD.

Sometimes I wonder about many of these 'players'. It's clear Big P and Big P are out to nail anybody connected with the old future Forward and their recent reincarnation with a lot of new and seemingly intelligent and decent players.

But they put themselves in the firing line. Why?

There must be many actions, strategies they can invoke to raise issues without doing things which are controversial (at least in the eyes of P and P).

The police bigwig has already come out and said the police will not be taking any action as they have not done anything illegal. Bet the green retirees and their successors are not happy.

Clearly a comment from a scholar of Stalinism. Or is it Nazism?

Could go back further, to the person/mob who set out to seriously divide the country and use force and violence to achieve it.
