Just wondering what we should grow in our land in Lamphun. We currently grow mangoes in the field where there is no water and we are reliant on the rain. What else could we grow that doesn't require a lot of water? I read jackfruit maybe possible, anything else?

It's now very close to wet season so we need to plan.

Thanks

Is it not possible to drill for water on the land?

That would give you a lot more options.

How do your mango's taste, grown naturally?

If they're sweet enough, or sour enough, depending on the type, why not just stick with them?

In my opinion, Jack fruit don't taste as good when not watered, but mango's seem to do OK.

Probably more involved than you want to get but you can grow a wide variety of vegetables in an aquaponic system. The water in an aquaponics system needs to be filled initially of course but the water recirculates so that you only have minimal water consumption from evaporation. The technique hardly uses any water compared to soil grown alternatives. Next time your in the Nakhon Sawan neighborhood, stop by and I will show you.
