I am using a Mac. Have a lot of things to read which are written in Thai. I can read, but very slow, about 25% speed of a Thai. Used to use Word for TTS   quick and easier to listen than reading

Adobe does not work ( pretends to, but does not ), Preview in Mac also does not read TTS.

Any options ?

have a few thousand pages to chew through

Thanks

Macs have built-in text to speech from any standard app and I see there is a Thai voice available in MacOS Catalina that may be available in older OS versions too. Would that work?

Go to system preferences, accessibility then speech. A good tip is to set a keyboard shortcut so you can just select text and hit a key combo. Or just go to the Edit menu > Speech > Start speaking (this process may be different if the app ignores MacOS UI guidelines, eg MS Office).
