webfact
Thailand sees three new virus cases – all in state quarantine By The Nation Thailand reported three new confirmed coronavirus cases without any deaths over a 24-hour period, Dr Taweesin Visanuyothin, spokesman of the government’s Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA), announced today (May 26). The number of Covid-19 patients has now increased to 3,045. All three new cases, which had barely shown any symptoms, were found in state quarantine – a 51-year-old female masseuse, who returned from Russia, and two 45-year-old men, who came home from Kuwait. Meanwhile, one patient has recovered and returned home in the past 24 hours. Of the 3,045 cases as of today, 59 are under treatment, 2,929 have recovered and been discharged, and 57 have died. Public Health Ministry statistics show that in the past four weeks the number of provinces that have reported no cases has increased to 65, while 10 provinces reported “around” one case and two others have 5-10 patients. Globally, the number of confirmed cases is presently around 5.49 million and about 345,000 deaths. ThailandRyan
So showing barely any symptoms while in quarantine, what if they are not showing any signs, are they then let go at the end of the 14 days and possibly still being asymptomatic or are they possibly actually giving them all tests? Let me just say....They walk amongst us as well those that are possibly asymptomatic, but we will never know until someone else becomes ill. If so then why not relax the measures in place, or are they afraid of a full scale blow up...I think we know the answer to that.....
Paiman
Relaxing the measures will bring the protesters out. I don't see them being able to keep the lid on for much longer. But then, it is Military. You do as you are being told.
Ranshoko
Caution is still needed. July might see an easing of the current restrictions.
Guderian
How many cases has Thailand managed to prevent from getting into the general population by imposing a strict, supervised quarantine from an early stage? Dozens certainly, possibly even hundreds. And in a situation like this, any little thing you can do to reduce the spread of the virus is useful. Meanwhile, the UK is still navel-gazing on the quarantine issue, and in spite of it supposedly starting in the second week of June, some people think it will be short-lived as it will be too damaging to the travel and tourism industries, and also too unpopular with young people wanting to go abroad for a summer holiday. How many tests have been done in Thailand on its people for the virus. Just those that can go a hospital that have the capability to carry them out. What about the lock down in January, inviting all the Chinese tourist in when they were riddled with the virus. I am not defending the UK as it has lessons to be learned and questions unanswered but you comparing the two situations is like apples and oranges. How many people in Issan have been tested or had a fever or even died. I don't see these figures added to the list. 3 cases please. Only the ill informed and gullible believe this.

People not infectious after 11 days. So after 14 days of quarantine we will be fine. "A positive test “does not equate to infectiousness or viable virus,” a joint research paper by Singapore’s National Centre for Infectious Diseases and the Academy of Medicine, Singapore said. The virus “could not be isolated or cultured after day 11 of illness.”https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-05-24/covid-19-patients-not-infectious-after-11-days-singapore-study Edited May 26, 2020 by vermin on arrival
