Trump is free to post whatever drivel he wants but from now on Twitter is putting a little sign at the bottom of his rantings saying things like  'Get the facts about mail-in ballots'.

He is still free to post. He has not been supressed, he has not be prohibited from posting.

don't fall into the trap of "i knows muh rights!"  the first amendment limits the powers of the federal (and by judicial interpretation, state and local) government.  it has no bearing whatsoever on the actions of corporations or individuals within their privately-owned spaces.

 

if gooble/farcebook/twooter decide to fact-check, edit, delete, or completely ban trump, they are fully within their rights.

 

central park is a public space.  central mall is not.  dress up as a klingon in the park and carry a sign reading "the end is nye" and we will all be amused at you exercising your rights.  you have NO right to carry placards with photos of aborted babies at a shopping mall; you will be escorted out and advised not to return else the police will remove you, with force if necessary.

 

the trump does not understand this, as he fails to grasp many simple concepts.  i can't imagine any executive order limiting or restricting the first amendmend, simply to punish online companies that refuse to "respect my authoritaye!," to pass constitutional muster.

Enough of the straw man argument. We are not debating whether censorship is/isn't good (we all obviously know it isn't), we are debating whether what Twitter did to Trump was in fact censorship. It wasn't. And we have laid the 1st Argument case to rest as well thanks to ChouDoufu.

Ok. In general it isn't good. But TVF is a good example of this debate. TVF will remove your post if it links to an exteranal falsehood/conspiracy etc.

If it's good for TVF, it should be ok for Twitter.

there is a difference between removing a post (tweet) and linking the post to a FACT check, truth research really, something DJT has limited experience with.

When the US wakes up and votes President Trump out of office my only hope is that Congress passes a law outlawing social media sites for the conduct of government business

 

The country should be ruled by laws passed and implemented by elected bodies, not based upon the number of likes on a social media site
