I see that there is a 2 way satellite internet available in Thailand (CSLoxinfo iPSTAR). 512 Download 128 upload speeds. Reasonably priced for such a service.

Does anyone have this type of connection. I use a similar service in the Middle East, very good. I want to install it in Thailand.

Feedback would be appreciated.

Yep. It's bad. Sometimes it's less bad than others, but overall - it's bad. Two of my neighbors have it.

It's ok for casual surfing, but if you do any business on the web - forget it.

I installed IPStar with CSLoxinfo, It was a mistake. Terrible service and expensive. If you search on here you will find many posts.

I am now with TOT IPStar, It was..OK at first but not brilliant. Then it went progressively down hill until it was unusable and I was forced back on my GPRS modem.

But this last week it's been fantastic. Downloading at max speed. If it stays like this I will be more than happy

Thanks for the quick feedback to everyone. I will only use it for pleasure not business. Give it a go and see what happens. In my location its the only option I have to "dial up" which is unobtainable or very slow.

I had Loxinfo Ipstar for a year and a half. It was expensive and SUPER sucked. I changed to TOT Ipstar and it was cheaper and better. Unfortunately it has gone downhill and now it sucks too. I pay 2,600 baht for 1024/512 service. I WILL be changing to the 1,500 baht 256/128 as soon as possible. I frequently use my GPRS cell phone to connect. I too have no other options.

If you've no telephone line, consider the new CDMA wireless system that's available from Cat Telecom - 590Baht/month for the subscription and a download connection of about 450Kbps if you purchase the Sierra Laptop aircard for 15,990 Baht. I've got the Huawei USB telephone option for 3,990 baht and that works fine but is rather slow - about 120Kbps/40Kbps. The web site is in Thai if you can read or have someone read for you: http://www.contactcenter.cattelecom.com/th...nfo.asp#anchor6
