There are no IB regulations requiring that lump sum money in the bank has to come from an IB-approved source. It would not be illegal if the money would be gifted (and income tax paid on it). But I don't think that's what the poster really suggested.

Such Farangs just create problems for all that obey to the rules. It is hard for me to understand why you want to protect an individual that doesn't care even about the most simple laws. Please Thailand deport him and do not allow him to come back. We don't need such people creating problems for all the many who follow the rules. If there were no folk like him, the guys in the photos would be out farming rice.....???? 5

Each case on its own merits would be my view. Not just a paperwork violation which ultimately thats all this actually is, clerical violation. His paperwork is not in order so lets rip his life apart and ban him from what is now his home for 10yrs ! Shameful in my opinion. Until very recently that was exactly the case in the UK. If you were found without a proper visa or leave permission and removed yourself voluntarily right away from the country, there were no legal consequences so ever. Maybe it's because they are allowed to integrate and feel welcome... I've lost count of the amount of Thais that have lost their life savings to a foreigner when they haved lived there, being ripped off by those pesky foreigners at every turn, and that having to pay 10x what a Brit has to pay to enter Windsor Castle. Of course the constantly being referred to in a derogatory name doesn't even come into it.

If he hasn’t got the requirements to stay legally then he shouldn’t be here. Maybe not after the first time of renewal, but first time you have to provide the money transfer from abroad code That would obviously depend on the IO and at which office.
