When those beer bar opens, I wonder what they are going to sell? Bottled beer, which has been sitting at roughly 30 degrees centigrade for months, beer which is totally bitter and stale? Beer is not properly stored, and that is a rule in Thailand. Therefore I will wait some time until the old p*ss has been sold. Besides I will keep on checking the filling dates, before I order a beer, or buy at the 7/11 or a supermarket. Lately I saw some boxes of Singha at Big-C with a filling date 19.09.2019! Cheers!

I think the main question will be what will happen if Thailand can't get rid of Corona and might even be left with many cases. Will the tourists and other countries care? They could avoid or block Thailand. It is not an easy situation for a country that depends so much on tourism. There might be safer travel destinations then. And what should be done with tourists that get Corona while being here?

It's the business which is for sale or rent, not the land or the building

the sign ''sale'' or ''rent'' can stay in place during years, i have seen some 

of them year after year, the owners of the land and building don't care at all

they are already wealthy enough to wait decades until a real estate developper

offer them an incredible amount of money for their <deleted>ty place.

I only drink Bourbon which matures with age. Good for me.

We have already got rid of Covid. The trick now is to keep it Covid free.

Let the games begin...Should have seen the look on my landlords face. Politely asked for discounts on rent for the last couple of months as have all the bar owners here (in Hua Hin) till we get up and running and she wouldn't budge. Alot of the landlords are Thai Chinese and they're ruthless. They don't care to help knowing that the next tenant will have to pay an upfront deposit usually equal to 6 months rent. So it's win win for them, they couldn't give a rats behind about the tenants.  So cleaned the place out and handed her the key with a smile...Priceless ! 

If the staff want to work with safety precautions and the customers accept any risks by drinking in the bars, then what is the problem. I have no problem in sitting in a bar and any risks there will be.

 

Unfortunately personal choice is being taking away everyday with these rules.

The problem is that you will meet other people outside the bar and they will have to live with the risks of your personal choice too. I understand that you are unhappy but there is not an easy fix.

You should inform the government and tell them that you are a very efficient test tool. Perhaps you could start a great career here. ????

Must be economically very hard on all these people. I guess they have to ante-up a bit more to lubricated the machinery.

The local markets are open. Thais flock to them and rub shoulders in the throng of people with plenty not wearing masks, including food vendors. Can someone explain to me how that is safer than a bar with a couple of expats sitting having a quiet beer? The borders are not open, so the customer base is going to be from the people that live here and have endured this prolonged period of closure. By the way, I went for a bicycle ride on the weekend and counted over 500 Thais not wearing masks at all of wearing them under their chin. Everybody is over it and while the big dicks in local government can report up the line how good they are (saving face) by imposing all their strict measures, the BIB are as usual nowhere to be seen, so once again no enforcement.
