Fantastic news for fans everywhere of long dead slave traders - there is now a GoFundMe page set up to raise money to recover Colston from his watery repose and see him restored to the status to which he was accustomed.

It has already got off to a cracking start, and in only one day has raised the staggering sum of £72 - only another £19,928 to go to reach the target. So come on all you TV Colston fans, prove your patriotism and put your money where your mouth is. Your country needs you!

Reinstate the Edward Colston Statue

How do we know the Antifa Taleban will not just tear it down again?

Those thugs.

Info seen elsewhere from a serving copper in that force says they knew full well what the plan was and that they had the resources to deal with it.

They were overruled.

Completely false ^

Churchills body went from ST Pauls cathedral to Waterloo by boat and the docks were a few miles in the other direction, so, false story

So, it would be a fitting tribute , for  statues of Churchill , to be the Thames estuary ..

The ILO has been monitoring slavery in the Thai offshore fishing industry. It's obviously of less concern because it ain't Whitey that's doing it?!????

No he won't be. I like this movement, the speech in Oxford strikes a chord with me, it's time for a change.

They are chanting, people power, decolonize, this is democracy, take him down. So this is no longer about George Floyd as I thought all along, it's revolutionary...

Not at the hands of a leftie lynch mob. Any Govt that succumbs to such nonsense deserves the consequences.

More than a lynch mob, it's growing everyday and people wanting a change in direction for the 21st century. They are idealists, the people defending the statues are stuck in the past.

"The Robert Milligan statue on West India Quay may not come down today because the lorry needed to take it away, at 20 tonne, is too heavy for the 7.5 tonne limit on the dock. One option is he goes but the plinth stays."

Why stop at statues, just destroy it all. Who needs a society anyway.

That seems to be the heat of the moment emotion du jour. Also known as anarchy.

Yep, anarchy. This Oxford protest is more revolutionary than others I've seen. Pretty good orators and powerful speeches, whipping the crowd up, this is organised today.
