Police complaint filed against woman who posed as nurse in photoshoot

The Nurses Association of Thailand has decided to seek legal prosecution of a woman who claimed to be an alumna of Borommarajonani College of Nursing and dressed as a nurse for a pre-wedding photoshoot with a policeman.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand will consider a plan to reopen more businesses and establishments from as early as June 15, an official said on Wednesday, after the country has reported no local transmissions of the coronavirus in the past 16 days.

LONDON (Reuters) - Population-wide face mask use could push COVID-19 transmission down to controllable levels for national epidemics, and could prevent further waves of the pandemic disease when combined with lockdowns, according to a British study on Wednesday.

BEIJING (Reuters) - A potential COVID-19 vaccine being developed by Chinese researchers showed promise in trials in monkeys, triggering antibodies and raising no safety issues, researchers said, and a human trial with more than 1,000 participants is under way.

MCOT to get Bt3.2 billion in compensation for recalled spectrum

Operators of fake seafood restaurant get record prison sentence

The court handed down a total of 1,446 years in prison to two defendants – Apichart “Joab” Bawonbancharak and Prapatsorn Bawonbancha – for defrauding people by publicising false statements. The duo was each sentenced to a year in jail for each of the 723 offences. Their company, Laem Ket Infinite Co, was fined Bt5,000 per offence or a total of 3.615 million.

That changed with the May 25 death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, which has set off a flurry of corporate statements of solidarity with the black community – along with pledges of more than $1.7 billion to advance racial justice and equity.
