You may have hit the nail on the head, when you say 'brainwashed the youth'. i believe that we are seeing a rejection of much that was held sacred; nobility and robber barons who are/were never noble; military who lead millions into death, to support beliefs such as slavery, religiousity; you name it. By and large, governments have shown that they are not very competent in defending their citizens against all manner of ills. What is being torn down are representations of what does not matter, to many people today; if you are fearful, homeless, jobless, disenfranchzed; the list is endless. Every credible historian (and other experts) say(s), that you cannot apply modern day morals & values on historical figures. That people MUST be viewed within the context of their times.

The courts are on overtime, so keep the sentencing in full flow. Fines too - most of the middle class kids can afford it and we need all the finances we can get to repair the statues.

Means nothing, the battle was won a long time ago, the overt racism I saw in my youth is long gone. As is the overt sexism. Like a dog with a bone, they don't know when to let go.
